The Opportunity
At Hitachi Energy, our purpose is advancing a sustainable energy future for all. With strong growth across the region, we are strengthening our Communications and Government Relations function and are looking for a Country Communications & Government Relations Manager for the Benelux region.
In this role, you will shape how Hitachi Energy's story is told across Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. You will manage relationships with government institutions, oversee local communications activities, and ensure compelling, consistent messaging that supports our business priorities and contributes to Europe's energy transition.
Reporting to the Head of Communications & Government Relations for France and the Benelux region, you will work closely with European and Global teams to deliver integrated strategies across all channels. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications and public affairs professional who wants to make a meaningful impact in a fast-evolving industry.
How You'll Make an Impact
Develop and execute integrated communications strategies aligned with local business priorities.
Produce high-quality content including internal messages, press releases, articles, speeches, and briefings.
Manage media relations: respond to media inquiries, coordinate interviews, and maintain strong press relationships.
Oversee brand positioning, crisis communications, and local social media presence.
Support legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts in collaboration with the Country Managing Director.
Build and maintain relationships with industry associations, coalitions, and public-sector stakeholders.
Monitor public policy developments, assess their impact, and provide reporting to senior management.
Ensure all activities comply with laws, regulations, and company policies while promoting Hitachi Energy's values of safety and integrity.
Bachelor's degree in communications, political science, public affairs, or a relevant field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, media relations, or public affairs.
Strong cross-functional communication capabilities, including digital, editorial, branding, and internal communications.
Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages.
Experience working with diverse stakeholders and analyzing the impact of policy developments.
Proven ability to operate effectively in international and cross-cultural environments.
Fluency in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
